Zinj Design is dedicated to promoting beadwork and leatherwork in East Africa. The main objective is to improve the living conditions of the artisans. Zinj Design has now trained and supported over 80 artisans from Takaungu and the surrounding area. The Zinj workshop in a small village overlooking the beautiful Takaungu stream uses rustic Kenyan cowhide to produce beautiful belts, handbags and other accessories. Each product is embellished with east African beads in traditional colours and patterns by hand. All brassware (e.g. belt buckles) is hand-cast from recycled solid brass.
