The story of Gogo Olive began in 2008 as a vision to improve the lives of Zimbabwean women. Scottish-born Julie Hagan started the Gogo Olive knitting project after several years of work experience at a local Zim church. Since then, expectations have been exceeded, both in terms of the number of women employed and the improvement in living conditions! Gogo Olive pursues the following goal: to create beautiful and unique products that are handmade, fairly traded, ethically correct and, above all, bring great joy. The knitters receive a living wage that is sufficient to secure the lives of their families. The women receive additional support through various training programmes (such as private financial planning and budgeting) and an emergency fund.
