Global Mamas is backed by the non-profit organisation Women in Progress, which markets the products manufactured under the "Global Mamas" label worldwide. The aim of this organisation is to reduce the economic disadvantage of African women by providing them with sustainable sources of income and helping to improve the profit margins of women-run businesses. This in turn increases the income of employees, opens up new job opportunities and improves living conditions overall.
